Third Transplant Patient Cured of HIV Marks Important Firsts

This week’s news that a third person has been “cured” of HIV through a unique transplant of stem cells has given hope for a larger-scale way to beat back the HIV epidemic that has plagued the world for decades. But while this case is certainly cause for celebration, experts involved in the effort say we are still a long way from a universal cure.

Divisive social media star Andrew Tate detained in Romania

  BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Andrew Tate, a divisive social media personality and former professional kickboxer, was detained in Romania late Thursday on charges of human trafficking and rape, according to local media reports. Tate, a British-U.S. citizen who previously was banned from various social media platforms for expressing misogynistic views and hate speech, was reportedly detained along with his brother Tristan in the Ilfov area north of Romania’s capital, Bucharest. Romania’s anti-organized crime agency said in a statement late that four suspects, including two British citizens and two Romanians, were arrested on charges of being part of an organized crime group, human trafficking and rape. 9 Police Vans Failed To Catch Car That Dragged Woman 13 km: Sources

  Sources have also told NDTV that nine Police Control Room (PCR) vans chased the car but failed to catch it. New Delhi:  In the horrific death of a 20-year-old Delhi woman dragged by a car for over an hour on January 1, there are more indications that the occupants of the car knew she was caught in the axle but kept driving, crushing her in the most horrific manner.
